Davis Energy Group has been active in California Title 20 and Title 24 codes and standards activities for over 20 years. DEG is currently under contract to both Sempra Energy and the California Energy Commission's lead Title 24 consultant to provide support in the development of the 2013 Title 24 Building Energy Standards. This effort focuses on developing a methodology for recognizing night ventilation cooling in residential standards, and upgrading single family water heating methodology.

The California Public Utilities Commission adopted a “Big Bold Initiative” that decreed that all new residential buildings in California will be zero net energy by 2020, and all new commercial buildings will be zero net energy by 2030 (California Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan, January 2011). DEG brings years of experience in technology evaluation and energy modeling, engineering expertise in building and mechanical systems, and lessons learned from previous projects to develop optimal zero net energy designs for individual homes as well as communities.

Catharine is the Area Sales Manager for Advanced Energy Products and Davis Energy Group. With over 20 years sales management experience in the building industry, Catharine’s focus is reaching out to potential customers who are focused on energy efficiencies and green building. She graduated from California State University Sacramento summa cum laude with a business management degree.

Erik has experience in systems engineering, education, sustainability, and public policy for science and innovation in both the U.S. and abroad. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis. Erik holds a M.P.P. with a concentration in Science and Technology Policy from George Mason University, and a B.S.E and B.M. from the University of Hartford.

Davis Energy Group has extensive experience in the evaluation of heating, cooling, and ventilation strategies.
