Description

Dawlen Corporation was among the many small companies that began during World War II. On May 2, 1942, Mervin R. Doolittle, James H. Dawson and Max B. Bullen began a screw machine products business in a modest building in Jackson, Michigan. Since then, Dawlen Corporation has grown into one of Jackson’s most successful machining businesses, supplying its customers with quality products for over 65 years. Edwin G. Small bought out the founders’ stakes in Dawlen, eventually becoming the company’s sole owner. Mr. Small ran the firm until his death in 1984, when the business was taken over by Faith F. Small, his wife. Since 1984, Dawlen has expanded five times and increased its work force. Dawlen Corporation’s growth has been based on the experience of its work force with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
