Description

Welcome to De Pere.com! Our city is located in Brown County, Wisconsin, just south of Green Bay. De Pere was first incorporated as a city in 1883. The cities of De Pere and West De Pere merged in 1890, keeping the simple "De Pere" name. Our population at the 2000 census was 20,559. Our greatest geographic landmark is the Fox River, which splits the west side of town from the east side. The river provides many recreational opportunities for fishing, boating and water skiiing in the summer, and also ice fishing in the winter. In 1671, a group of French Jesuit priests, led by Father Claude Allouez, established a mission here...
