Ninety-five percent of Dean Health System is owned by physician-shareholders. The remaining five percent is owned by the Sisters of St. Marys (SSM), a St. Louis-based order which also owns several hospitals nationwide including St. Marys Hospital Medical Center Medical and Health Services Dean Health System owns and operates a network of clinics and medical facilities that provide primary, specialty and tertiary care in southern Wisconsin. This network of medical services include:The original "Dean Clinic" began in 1904 in Madison, WI, when Dr. Joseph Dean, a surgeon, opened a small downtown practice. Today, Dean Clinics comprise a multi-specialty network of clinics that provide exceptional primary and specialized medical care in central locations throughout Dane, Rock and Walworth Counties.
