Physically, the state is the smallest in the country and outside of the fictitious town of Quahog in the hit cartoon “Family Guy,” you just don’t hear much about it. But Rhode Island-based warehousing and supply chain management company Dean Warehouse Services has quite a use for a state that is small in stature but big on vampire superstitions. Despite Rhode Island’s small size, Dean Warehouse operates 12 warehousing facilities within its borders, totaling nearly 2,000,000 square feet of space. The company offers integrated warehousing, logistics, and transportation services, including online transmittal of orders and overnight carrier services. Dean Warehouse is now making supply chain management easier for its clients via Dean’s Integration System, a real-time, online, RF-based tracking system. Dean Warehouse’s customers, who include more than 70 Massachusetts-based companies, will now be able to track their inventories throughout the supply chain. The system, which allows clients to leverage and track information from the Dean Warehouse WMS by using their own ERP applications, ensures that the manufacturing process, warehousing, transportation, and order fulfillment are fully integrated. Companies using Dean Warehousing will be able to better compete both nationally and globally. Dean estimates that its Integration System is six times more effective than traditional pick and pack shipping, and increases security while decreasing loss. In the end, Dean Warehouse proves that big packages can come out of small states. ^TOP Commercial Carrier Journal Dean Warehouse Implements RF Integration System By CCJ Staff Dean Warehouse Services, New England’s largest warehousing and supply chain management company, has announced the launch of Dean’s Integration System, a real-time, online radio frequency-based tracking system that allows Dean’s customers to track their inventory throughout the supply-chain management system.
