As underwriting manager for the companies we represent, Deans & Homer has developed a broad array of products for the property casualty insurance field. On behalf of our companies , we perform all underwriting and production functions, including form and rate development for our proprietary products. We handle accounting, claims, regulatory compliance and record keeping functions for policies we issue. In 2006, Deans & Homer celebrated its 150th anniversary. The business was established in 1856 in San Francisco. After several partnership changes, William Deans joined the firm in 1916. The firm became known as Deans and Homer in 1942 when Carl Homer joined the organization. Deans & Homer now operates as a Sub-chapter S corporation. Since the early 1960s, Deans & Homer has functioned as underwriting manager with broad authority for a number of excellent companies, working principally with appointed independent agencies in our operating territory of California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon and Washington. In addition, we have developed several programs available in our territory and beyond that are available to all licensed agents. Currently, Deans & Homer maintains eleven autonomous branch offices.
