Karen Powell & Josie Cicerale initially founded Decor & More, Inc. in 1994 as an interior decorating business made up of home-based independent decorators. After perfecting their Decor Plan systems and unique training programs, they began to structure their business in light of new economic trends and the nature of the changing workforce in the industry.They concluded that their system would be best implemented by a network of franchisees who, as full-time entrepreneurs, would be committed to growing and developing their individual decorating businesses to their fullest potential. Thus, in January 1998, Karen & Josie launched the Decor & You® Inc. Franchise Program, representing the culmination of over 40 years combined experience in the decorating field.Prior to 1994, both Karen & Josie served as District Directors, Trainers and Custom Decorators with a national decorating company. Both led teams of decorators accounting for a combined annual sales of over $1M. They coordinated and conducted seminars at regional and national conferences and provided training and coaching for hundreds of beginning decorators throughout the Northeast. Karen & Josie were consistently ranked in the Top 10 nationally for individual and team sales, resulting in numerous achievement-related prizes and awards.
