Description

Deerfield Capital Corp. ("DFR") acquired Deerfield & Company LLC and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Deerfield Capital Management LLC ("DCM"), on December 21, 2007. Through DCM, its asset management subsidiary, DFR manages client assets, including bank loans and other corporate debt, residential mortgage-backed securities, government securities and asset-backed securities. In addition, DFR has a principal investing portfolio comprised of fixed income investments, including bank loans and other corporate debt and residential mortgage backed securities. The Deerfield organization, based in the Chicago area, was founded in 1993. As of July 1, 2009, DCM had approximately 65 employees and managed $9.9 billion in assets under management.
