About - Dr. Barbara Gronsky Principal Dr. Barbara Gronsky is a licensed psychologist who specializes in career development and work effectiveness issues. She has spent over twenty-five years helping individuals from late adolescence through retirement to: 1) identify realistic career paths where they will be likely to find success and fulfillment, 2) develop job-search strategies and skills to efficiently land their next position and 3) overcome facets of their personality or style that interfere with their ability to achieve their career aspirations. She has particular expertise in enhancing emotional competence and avoiding career derailment. Dr. Gronsky ’s career has been split between corporate consulting and a career-focused private practice. As an independent corporate consultant since 1993, she provides career development, outplacement, leadership development and executive coaching to managers and executives of large and small corporations. Corporate clients include: Johnson & Johnson, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer Consumer HealthCare, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Revlon, Rohm and Haas Corporation, Siemens Medical Solutions, Campbell Soup, Wachovia Bank, FMC Corporation, Marsh USA, Aramark, Air Products and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Within her corporate consulting practice, Dr. Gronsky presented "The Career Development Challenge", a six-month training/coaching program designed to enhance managers' effectiveness in developing subordinates and facilitating employee ownership for managing their careers. She delivered career and business consulting for a corporation dedicated to assisting female entrepreneurs launch successful businesses. In addition, Dr. Gronsky has provided executive coaching to over 350 executives, managers and high potential employees to maximize emotional competence, influence and communication skills, political/organizational savvy, leadership impact, and efficient use of time and other resources. In her private practice, Dr. Gronsky counsels individuals of all ages about how to plan and manage their careers, run effective job search campaigns, and resolve skill or personality issues that interfere with success or satisfaction at work. She is a preferred provider of career management services for alumni of the Wharton School of Business. Before establishing her business, Dr. Gronsky worked for seven years on the staff of several prominent human resources and career management consulting firms where she delivered career transition, stress management, leadership development, and assessment services. She began her career as the first Clinical Director in a successful start-up business, creating and managing national employee assistance programs for General Electric and other companies. Dr. Gronsky completed a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland in 1982 and is a licensed Psychologist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey .
