When patients are brought to the hospital by an Emergency Medical Service provider or ambulance, Delray Medical Center’s trauma team receive critical patient condition information, so that the team has the ability to provide immediate care upon the patient’s arrival. If necessary, Delray Medical Center can quickly call on the team of neurology specialists and surgeons to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive care in a seamless fashion.

If we partner with a third party to provide services and you sign up for those services, we will share your name and other contact information necessary for our partner to provide the services to you.

Treatment . Your PHI may be used and disclosed to provide treatment and other services to you--for example, to diagnose and treat your injury or illness. In addition, you may be contacted to provide you appointment reminders or information about treatment alternatives or other health-related benefits and services that may be of interest to you. Your PHI may also be disclosed to other providers involved in your treatment. For example, a doctor treating you for a broken leg may need to know if you have diabetes because if you do, this may impact your recovery.

A new surgical method, transoral esophagogastric fundoplication, takes the techniques of Nissen fundoplication surgery and uses the openings of the mouth and esophagus to provide entry for the surgical instruments. Once the patient is properly sedated and has breathing support in place, a very flexible endoscope is inserted into the stomach through the mouth and down through the esophagus to provide the surgeon with a view of the patient’s LES. The surgical instruments use the same route and allow the surgeon to fasten the upper part of the stomach around the LES.
