Description
The Delta Lady is modeled on the paddle wheelers that traversed the river in the late 1800's, delivering both passengers and goods to the Ft. Myers area. Built in 1984, she was one of four replica paddle wheelers launched from a shipyard in Harker's Island, North Carolina. She was brought down the Intracoastal Waterway in 2005 to her new home in Ft. Myers all the way from New Jersey. We have long experience in operating tour boat trips to view the manatees which congregate in the Orange and Caloosahatchee rivers during the winter months to feed and keep warm. We are committed to manatee conservation and rescue while educating our visitors about this endangered species. In additional to trips on the Delta Lady, we have a Visitor Information Center with manatee exhibits, and a gift shop with a large collection of manatee-related books and gifts. As well as our excursions, the Delta Lady offers a unique venue for those looking for a perfect and different setting for their special event. She is ideal for charity events, fund raisers, corporate meetings and executive retreats, team-building sessions, holiday parties, rehearsal dinners, weddings and wedding receptions, school and church functions, family reunions, birthday and anniversary parties.
