History of Deming Construction DCI has a long history that dates back to the 1940s. Justus Deming, the first generation of Deming contractors, was experienced in general construction, including carpentry, concrete, and masonry. His experience included working as a carpenter on the AL-CAN Highway during World War II. Justus started a partnership called Deming and Sherman Construction in 1945. Shortly after the partnerships conception, Sherman stepped down and the company became Deming Construction. Justus’ son, Harold, became a partner with Justus in the early 1950s. They built anything from houses to barns to septic systems. Harold attended Dunwoody Institute for Drafting and Estimating from 1952 to 1953. Justus passed away prematurely in 1954 leaving Harold to run Deming Construction until Harold passed away in the spring of 2007. Deming Construction today Robert Deming is President and CFO of Deming Construction Incorporated. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in construction engineering from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. He gained experienced through his employment with Boecon Corporation, a subsidiary of Boeing, from 1980 to 1983. He entered into a partnership with his father from 1983 through 1995. Robert became President of Deming Construction Incorporated when it was incorporated in 1996. Jon Deming is Vice President and Project Manager of Deming Construction Incorporated He is a 1995 graduate of Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Management concentration. He became part of the company with the incorporation of DCI in 1996. His current duties include project supervision, scheduling, estimating and personnel. In 2002, Jon set up office in Norwood-Young America, where he now resides.
