Amy Pritchard President Contact: amy@democraticgain.org Amy Pritchard is the Director of the DC office of Mission Control, a direct mail firm which works with Democratic candidates, party committees, initiative and referendum campaigns, trade associations, labor unions and public interest groups. In 2003, Pritchard founded Democratic GAIN – an association for Democratic and Progressive Political Professionals - and current serves as its President. Democratic GAIN supports individuals and organizations through training, mentoring, professional benefits and employment services. Pritchard is President of AP Campaigns a general political consulting firm for progressive non-profits and partisan organizations. In 2004 she took a leave from her consulting to serve full time as the Political Director of the Democratic National Committee. One of the nation's leading experts on initiatives and referenda, Pritchard is the past President and current Board member of the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, an organization that monitors ballot measures and provides training, research and strategic guidance to progressive ballot measure campaigns. In 1995, Pritchard managed the successful state-wide campaign to defeat an anti-gay ballot initiative in Maine. From 1997-1998 Pritchard served as the Midwest and Northeast Political Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Pritchard has worked has trained extensively including for the DNC, DCCC, AARP, Wellstone Action, BISC, Progressive Majority and a variety of other organizations including internationally for the National Democratic Institute (in Kosovo) and the Women's Campaign International (in Venezuela). Pritchard also has grassroots lobbying and organizing experience, having worked for the Human Rights Campaign, Service Employees International Union and the American Psychological Association.Alexandra Acker Lyons Executive Director Contact: alexandra@democraticgain.org Over the past 10 years, Alexandra has worked for candidates and campaigns, party committees, and progressive organizations. Alexandra recently joined Democratic GAIN as Executive Director, overseeing the professional organization for political operatives. She previously worked for GAIN as Training Director in 2005. During the 2006 election cycle, Alexandra was the Campaign Manager for the National Campaign for Fair Elections (an initiative of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law), worked with national and state coalition partners to advance election reform legislation. In 2004, Alexandra served the National Youth Outreach Director for the John Kerry for President Campaign and the Democratic National Committee. As the Campus Outreach Manager for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) from 2003-2004, Alexandra worked with PPFA affiliates across the country on campus organizing for public policy initiatives. During the 2002 election cycle, Alexandra worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) as the Assistant to the Chair, Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY). She joined the DCCC after working for Rep. Lowey in her Congressional office. Alexandra is a recognized political commentator and has appeared regularly on CNN, Fox News, and in numerous national print publications. Alexandra graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a B.A. in political science. She grew up in Nyack, NY and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA with her husband, Jonathan, and their two cats. Seth Tanner Webmaster Contact: seth@democraticgain.org Seth Tanner is an Assistant Account Executive with Mission Control. a direct mail firm which works with Democratic candidates, party committees, initiative and referendum campaigns, trade associations, labor unions and public interest groups. During 2007, Seth worked in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for Governor Bill Richardson’s Presidential campaign. There, he was in charge of integrating all content produced by the campaign into the email program and website, and was a key member in the data-based strategic planning and execution of the campaign’s internet program. In 2006, he worked as a Web Specialist for the Democratic National Committee, where he converted the Committee’s content requests into email and website solutions. In 2003, he started working for College Democrats of America, the official college outreach arm of the DNC, ending up as the Deputy Director. During the 2004 cycle, he developed and implement an online and offline program to grow CDA’s chapter program from 505 campuses to over 1372 campuses, and create statewide organizations in over 20 states. He also helped plan and execute two CDA conventions, each bringing over 700 student activists together for trainings and speakers. He is still active active with the College Democrats of America Alumni Association He is a native of Connecticut and a graduate from George Washington University with a degree in Political Communications. Not happy with just a bachelors, he is working on a Masters in Political Management from the George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management , expecting to graduate in May 2009.
