Tools for Bending is internationally recognized for the quick design and in-house manufacturing of high-degree-of-difficulty bend tools. These "hero" bend tools are how we developed our own expertise in bending principals (forces during bending) at the Tools for Bending headquarters in Denver, Colorado. Visitors can also watch the use and manufacture of our bend tools. We believe that our customers could not produce their own bend tools any cheaper and faster or with the same quality and value.

TFB: Tooling for Tube Bending Tools For Bending manufactures all types of bending tools. Designing tube bending tools since 1965, we know that research and innovation plays a big part. We have designed many different types of tube bending tools, in addition to basic mandrels.

Typically, aircraft tube bending is characterized by a number of factors. First, this particular type of tube bending often consists of tight radius bends some of these less than 1" x D. Also, the tube bending can include high wall factors of 200 plus, and oftentimes little or no straight between bends. In addition, with aircraft tubes, there is minimal permitted wall thinning (12 to 18 percent) and collapse (3 to 4 percent). Aircraft tube bending can introduce added complications, using a wide range of tubing material, much of which has very poor elongation (12 to 18 percent).

We provide a selection of mandrels for any conceivable requirement. We also furnish the "H" style universal flexing, link mandrels. Our single-plane "Brute" mandrel has superior strength and straight ball alignment; ideal for high production or larger tubes. Mandrels are available for literally any size of tube/pipe, as well as any square, rectangle, or shape. All mandrels are available in standard pitch, close pitch, or for extremely thin wall tubes, the ultra-close pitch configuration. Mandrel materials are Ampco bronze or tool steel.
