Peter J. DesMeules pdesmeules@doolaw.com PETER J. DESMEULES was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 27, 1949. He resides in Pomfret, Vermont with his wife, Ellen, and their two children, Emily and Hadley. Peter was admitted to the Vermont Bar in 1975 and in 1980 to the U.S. District Court, District of Vermont. Education: Lehigh University (B.A., 1971); New England School of Law (J.D., 1975). He is a member of the Windsor County and Vermont Bar Associations. Peter has over thirty years of legal experience in the "Upper Valley" area. Peter's areas of practice include residential and commercial real estate law; probate law; estate planning; corporations; partnerships; general practice. During his years of practice, Peter has served on Vermont Governor Howard Dean's Council of Environmental Advisors, 1993-1999 and as a member of the Connecticut River Joint (VT/NH) Commissions Water Quality Committee, 1994-1995 and as New England Representative, Natural Resources Board, National Trout Unlimited, 1993. He graduated from Boston University in 1972, the University of New Hampshire Graduate School in 1976, and Vermont Law School in 1983 (magna cum laude). Mr. Olmstead is admitted to State and Federal Courts in Vermont and New Hampshire, and he has represented individuals in a wide variety of civil disputes. Litigation areas including contract, real estate, municipal law, boundary disputes and business disputes. Mr. Olmstead's practice also focuses on real estate, municipal law, and estate planning. Long-term clients include Carroll Concrete, Mascoma Savings Bank, the Town of Norwich and the Trust for Public Land. Mr. Olmstead is a member of the Vermont and New Hampshire Bar Associations and the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association. He is the Town Agent for Norwich and is a member of the Norwich Conversation Commission. Reported decisions include
