Description

Bruce is an accomplished economist and urban planner with more than 35 years of experience developing policies in Emerging Market Countries. He also has extensive experience working with Mayors, City Councils, and other public officials to conduct legislative reform initiatives in more than 45 countries. He has served on numerous boards including Ohio Wesleyan University and that of 3 social service organization in the Boston Metropolitan area.

Serving in the field of dentistry for over 40 years, Dr. Robert Karl Jr. is a well-regarded local dentist with his own practice in Rancho Mirage, CA. His education and training includes a Doctorate of Dental and Masters of Public Health at the University of Michigan, as well as a fellowship at Harvard University and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in geriatrics. In his free time, Dr. Karl volunteers for community organizations and foundations, including Desert Samaritans for the Elderly and Change a Life Foundation.

An increasing number of women and children are affected by HIV/AIDS and the services they require are unique. Although HIV/AIDS is a complex disease, 100 WOMEN are dedicated to helping keep women and children living with, affected by, or at-risk for HIV or AIDS have longer, stronger lives filled with love and happiness. Since the addition of the 100 WOMEN annual giving program, Desert AIDS Project has been able to provide gynecological services to women, including pap smears, underwrite mammograms, and ensure healthcare accessibility to women and children.
