“Our mission is to assist in preparing our young men and women for their future, therefore improving the chances of their successful return to the community, and adaption to a healthy and safe lifestyle.” Detroit Behavioral Institute - Capstone Academy was established in 2008 as an expansion of Detroit Behavioral Institute and is designed to serve youth involved in the juvenile justice system who are in need of residential treatment services focusing on mental health issues. The 35,000 square feet free-standing facility is designed for treatment programming and offers a wide range of supplemental amenities for educational and recreational activities, also a part of the treatment modality. Our treatment programs use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as the main core of our therapeutic services. Other evidenced based as used as appropriate including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Modification, Play Therapy, and the Family System. All therapists are trained in CAFAS.
