Description

Devro is one of the world's leading producers of manufactured casings for the food industry, supplying a wide range of products and technical support to manufacturers of sausages, salami, hams and other cooked meats. Sales of collagen have grown by more than 25% worldwide since 2007 as many sausage producers are switching from gut casing and reaping benefits. See our latest annual report for details on the impact of our business. Transparency is the main objective in the intercourse with our investors.

Within Devro chemists are involved in a number of areas of our business. The three key areas are Analytical Services, Process Control and Product Development. Our laboratories use a diverse range of traditional wet chemistry techniques and state of the art technology including High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Analytical chemists use existing techniques and also develop new methods to investigate the chemical nature of our raw, intermediate and finished products, primarily for legislative and quality assurance purposes.

Our products are designed to deliver financial benefits to producers through high levels of productivity and from providing products which consumers select first from the retail shelf. The positive features of the new collagen casings from Devro serve as the benchmark for the industry as any negatives have been eliminated through research and development.

They work varied shift patterns within small teams. In the UK candidates will have an HNC (or above) qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or a related discipline, and have experience in a production/process environment.

We're one of the world's leading manufacturers. Each year we produce enough collagen casing to stretch to the moon and back several times. We employ over 2,000 people across four continents, from food technologists to fleischmeisters, craftsmen and women to chemical engineers. Some hold doctorates, some drive forklifts. All of them come to work each day with one aim: to help our customers make the perfect sausage.
