The DFFA represents its members before Fire Administration, the City Manager's Office, the Mayor and City Council, as well as at the State Legislature and before Congressional Representatives and Senators. Our affiliation with the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters (TSAFF) gives us a voice in state government, while our affiliation with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) gives us input at the national level. As a unified organization of fire fighters we can exert greater influence on our political representatives and afford greater protection for our members. DFFA members have the assurance of knowing that they will be assisted with grievances, disciplinary appeals and worker's compensation problems. Trained officers are available to accompany members to hearings, assist in the preparation of appeal letters and prepare cases. Legal counsel is provided in more complex cases.
