DgyServices is able to provide extensive individual consulting advice on the purchase and configuration of home computer networks, personal computers, and in-home security products. We have considerable experience with wireless networks, wireless digital cameras, windows PCs on operating systems from Windows 98 on up, and a wide range of computer protection software like anti-virus , anti-spyware, and related security software programs. All fees for this service are negotiated individually. If you are questioning whether you need to buy a new computer versus spending some money for an update, we can certainly help you. Keep in mind that it may not be worth spending $100 at a big box store to have them tell you about the need for a new machine. We can also work with you to develop a simple website for your own use or your business. You can get your website online in a matter of hours and it will cost you less than $200 dollars a year for a domain name and to get your site up and running on a hosting service. We only recommend Network Solutions as a hosting service because you can easily maintain your own site once we get you up and running. This service is especially useful for local contractors, service shops, and retail stores who want a web presence but do not want to spend $1000's of dollars to get it. Senior Computer Education (Available in WI, June 2010) DgyServices can provide in-home training on how to become proficient in operating your computer. It does not matter how much experience you have. We can tailor a training program for you that will get you up to speed in less that 4 sessions. Typical training sessions are only a couple of hours . If you don't have a computer to start with, we can provide expert advice on what you may need and steer you to the right place to by one. We do not sell computer hardware but we will certainly assist anyone who wants to set one up. Prices for a typical series of educational sessions will run about $40 an hour or $75 for a two hour session. Typical Training Programs would include the following sessions: 1. Introduction to the Basics. Whats in the box, what it all means, and how do I get started. 2. Whats running on this computer? Basic overview of the operating system, major applications like email and document writing programs, and the notion of a browser. 3. Getting on the Internet. Using email and a browser to communicate with others and access the web. 4. Beyond the Front Door. Getting to use google or other search engines. Saving web pages as bookmarks, and learning about backups. 5. The Long Run. Running Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware protection. Firewalls, Spam, and Basic Rules. Computer Configuration and Software Installation and Repair (Coming Soon in WI or CO) Some of the most frustrating aspects with owning a computer is the amount of time it may take to keep your system working properly and free of hazards such as computer viruses and spyware. We can assist with the installation (or removal) of any application you may purchase. This includes such major applications as MS Office, Norton products, and other recommended anti-virus and anti-spyware programs. Our prices for individual, in-home service will be about $40 and hour. Extended travel times may cost extra. We regret that we can no longer do any PC hardware repair but we can certainly provide advice on what may be wrong.
