The DiabetesMonitor was founded May 3, 1995, by William W. Quick, MD, FACP, FACE, who was at the time in the private practice of endocrinology. In 1998, when he relocated from private practice, the responsibilities for the DiabetesMonitor were transferred to his wife, Stephanie Schwartz, RN, MPH, CDE. In 1999, ownership of the website was transferred to children with DIABETES. In November, 2003, Steph and Bill started a new website, ADiabetesWebsite. In August, 2004, ownership of the DiabetesMonitor website was transferred back to Steph and Bill, and the two websites integrated (see the press release, ADiabetesWebsite acquires DiabetesMonitor website). At the present time, this website is primarily personally funded, with assistance from sales generated though banner and other advertising, and links to Ads by Google and Amazon.
