Wayne A. Gifford is the president and lead consultant of Dieflow a consulting firm specializing in the design of of extrusion and co-extrusion dies for film, sheet and coating processes. Wayne received a Ph.D in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota specializing in the area of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). His prior experience includes over 15 years experience with Owens Corning, Dow Chemical and Extrusion Dies Inc. in developing 3-D CFD programs to solve extrusion problems. This has included algorithms to model and optimize the extrusion of continuous fibers, plastic foam, film, sheet and coatings and to design dies and feedblocks for a wide variety of extrusion and co-extrusion applications. Wayne is the recognized authority in implementing fast and efficient 3-D algorithms for the routine design of extrusion dies.
