Description

Most are aware of the opportunities for library engagement with university e-Research and data initiatives and probably have heard anecdotal evidence from librarians who have begun providing research data services. However, less has been shared about the challenges librarians encounter and how they have addressed them. Our study of librarians providing or planning to provide research data services suggests that librarians must overcome related challenges before reaping the benefits.

This workshop is for those that have some prior experience of Python, but need an extra boost to apply those skills to their work. Examples for the workshop will be tailored around participants’ use cases that surface in the first conference call; follow-up calls will focus on debugging their work and helping them find personally relevant next steps. Participation in all conference calls and the in-person workshop is required.
