They Call Me Cadillac by Randy Houser When asked about the title of the new album, Randy Houser answers “Yes, all my friends call me ‘Cadillac’, that is my nickname. I think my buddy Dallas Davidson, a songwriter around town, was the first to start calling me that. People ask Dallas why he calls me ‘Cadillac’ and he always says ’cause he’s smooth’. I like everything to go real smooth”. Randy believes that people are ready for real country music again and he is probably in one of the better positions to give it to them. He is a world-class songwriter, penning songs for artists including Justin Moore and Trace Adkins, a seasoned performer and have one of his generation’s great voices. When putting They Call Me Cadillac together, Randy says “I wanted to make a record I wanted to hear,” he explains. “I put my heart into this, and the result is something I’m really proud of…I want to catch people’s ears not just with a guitar hook, but with the words. I didn’t want too much going on around it.” Houser used his own band on the production and it is a great album by the artist that has been heavily influenced by the classic works of idols like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, George Jones and Waylon Jennings. Houser’s sophomore album has a wide variety of songs from the upbeat, let’s go party songs of “They Call Me Cadillac”, and I’m doing fine “Out Here In The Country” to the to the slow easy song of love, “Here With Me”. George Jones has been singing the burning question “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes” for years and I think perhaps Randy just might be on that road. Lead Me Home Craig Campbell has been playing music since age 7 and continued through high school. During this time, he won the local Jimmy Dean/True Value Country Showdown at ages15 and 18. Shortly after that, his family experiences some losses but instead of quitting he grabbed hold of their love and his determination and moved forward. After spending time with a band in his home town area, they disbanned and he moved to Nashville to pursue his career. After playing piano for Tracy Byrd, Craig decided that he needed to move forward with his own career and hit the famous strip in downtown Nashville called “Lower Broad”. Campbell quickly signed on at The Stage and became a regular, building a fan base while promoting his music. With help from people in the industry, Campbell eventually landed a partnership in Big Picture Group (BPG) and Keith Stegall to produce his current EP package and future album.
