Description
Disaster Scope was initially founded to meet the needs of local governmental and private non-profit agencies in Southern California as they pursued disaster recovery from the Northridge Earthquake and subsequent disasters. Following the devastating hurricanes along the Gulf Coast in 2005, we expanded our services by providing technical and policy support to the federal government, both out of the Joint Field Office in Louisiana and offices in California.
Diane Cox, the administrative director of Disaster Scope, has a background in developmental psychology and organizational sociology. Ms. Cox has worked in the mental health and education fields for over 30 years and, in addition to providing vision and direction to the firm, contributes resiliency research and development for our clients.
“ …as consultant for the Los Angeles Unified School District, [Graeme] has done an outstanding job in working with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to resolve issues and secure disaster recovery funding for the District.
Disaster Scope has extensive experience across the country working with many types of disasters, including earthquakes such as the Northridge Earthquake, hurricanes such as Hurricanes Katrina, Irene and Sandy, floods, wildfires and ice storms.
In addition, our people have experience in response, recovery and mitigation planning and can help you prepare for the entire disaster assistance process, from application to closeout.
