Discount Mattress Barn is a family owned and operated business that started in 1989, right here in Central Florida. From day one, our goal was to offer our customers the best value and service in name brand mattresses. How do we do it? High volume buying means lower prices; lower prices mean high volume sales! So, we went directly to the manufacturers, showed them our business plan and demanded a "highest volume, lowest price deal". They said "ok"!Why the pig? Next, we set out to keep our costs down by leasing the most inexpensive location we could find. You guessed it, it looked just like a barn! (Can you guess how we came up with the name?) Next, we had a meeting with the most talented artist we could find (and since she is the owner's wife, she agreed to work for FREE). The first thing she said was, "We need to create a logo that everyone will remember, ee, i, ee, i, o!" With an oink oink here, and an oink oink there, the pig was born!Turns out that our 'artist' was right (she usually is). Then she said, "Now that we have a logo and a name, it's time to present it to the public."
