In 1996 Vitas and Marlene Kijauskas purchased their first boat, the Discovery. They began exploring the Shipwrecks of Lake Erie. Two years later, Discovery Dive Charters & Tours, Inc. and Underwater Research & Recovery, Inc. was established. They started operating SCUBA diving charters and sightseeing tours onin the summer of 1998. After their first dive charter, they knew this was exactly what they wanted to do. But, considering the dive season is so short inthey decided to expand. When Wildwood Marina and the Linda Mae were offered to them in 2000, they couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
