Employment Action Center’s Women Achieving New Directions program was recently featured in the Pioneer Press. Women Achieving New Directions has been providing wage and career advancement services for low-income women in the Twin Cities for more than 20 years.

EAC’s success in providing employment services led to the development of services specifically to help youth reach their educational and employment goals. In 1986, the City of Minneapolis began funding EAC’s Minneapolis youth program. EAC’s expertise developed into our Youth and Young Parents Division , serving at-risk middle school youth, high school drop-outs, youth involved in the correctional system, and teen and young parents.

Over the past five years, the Jobs for Veterans program has served over 1,500 veterans from every branch of the military by helping them to find employment. Partnering with the Minnesota National Guard, Reserve units and veteran service organizations, we provide tools, resources, and referrals for success in job search and career transition.

In the last three years, we have placed over 2,700 laid off workers in new jobs. We specialize in serving jobseekers from a range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, business services, and many, many more. Our staff has hundreds of business contacts.

Our Jobs for Veterans program can help. We provide assessment and employment counseling, including workshops on resumes, interviewing, and job search strategies. In addition, we teach you to use the latest online job search tools. These tools will help you transfer your military skills to civilian jobs.
