Description
A small group of us stayed here for the Tustumena Sled Dog Race is January of 2010 and we all thought it was great! "Aunt" Dorothy was a very welcoming on our arrival and wanted to make sure everything was just perfect for us. We had a very large bedroom downstairs and I couldn't believe it when I walked in to the bathroom and there were robes! Wow. Clean linens every day and a very comfy bed. Hot tub outside... she even had extra tooth brushes as one of our crew forgot theirs. There was coffee, tea and water available at all times and the food was excellent! It was the first time that I tried Eggs Benedict and she got me hooked! All meals were excellent! Very friendly, warm atmosphere... would definitely love to visit again - perhaps in the summer next time so as to do a bit of fishing. Go visit and say Hi to Aunt Dorothy and her dog Clyde." “Well my friend and I decided we guys would go to Alaska and do a week of fishing followed by our wives coming up a week later for some sightseeing and a minor amount of fishing. After our first day it was clear this was no regular place.
Any angler who has heard about the "barn door" sized halibut of Alaska's pristine waters has more than likely had one or two fantasies of catching one of these great monsters. The anticipation of the big one is a lure of its own. If you have ever hooked into a big one, you know it takes a bit of skill and a lot of perseverance to close the deal. If you have not had the opportunity to navigate the North Gulf Coast waterways for over 30 years to gain the experience you need to catch your own, you need a guide with the right skills and experience. Our charter captains are life-long Alaskans with a proven track record for success through the highest catch ratio and a flawless safety record. Count on us to help you determine the best way to fulfill your Alaskan Halibut adventures.
Hello, I invite you to come and spend a week with us in my lodge, Crooked Creek Retreat. The doors were first opened to guests in July of 2007 and we have kept growing ever since. What makes us special is that we take care of all the details. Our goal is to make sure you have the best experience possble from the moment you arrive until we are waving good bye as you are pulling out of the driveway.
We provide rain gear, boots or waders as needed. Most of our rods and reels are new for the 2013 season. We use Kofler boats, drift and power, they are extremely clean and comfortable. We fish a maximum of four per boat. Normally with a group of six we will put three in each boat.
We are experienced, professional and dedicated to customer service. We rely on return business, word of mouth and pride ourselves on providing the best personalized service we can give. When we send you on a fly fishing trip you will be with a real fly fishing guide. Our guides are all well trained; State of Alaska Fish and Game licensed, insured, hold first aid certificates, and have years and years of experience.
