Downtown Professionals Network (DPN) is a planning and research firm specializing in solutions for community, downtown and business district economic development, redevelopment and revitalization. Founded in 2000, DPN has evolved to serve a clientele that includes local, state and national economic development entities, municipalities, Main Street and downtown development organizations, non-profit groups and private businesses.

Since 2004, Downtown Professionals Network (DPN) has worked with the Iowa Downtown Resource Center and Main Street Iowa to provide market analysis training and technical services to participating Main Street Iowa communities.

DPN consultants have first-hand experience in building and nurturing partnerships to effectively deal with issues and address the challenges that communities and traditional business districts face. We use that experience in our work with communities to perform in-depth analyses and to develop plans and strategies that embrace each community’s values, emphasize its strengths, and capitalize upon its local resources, momentum, creativity and ingenuity.

Our professionals work closely with each client to develop a management program and delivery system that is best suited to the community and the status of its downtown or business district initiative. Working on and off site, experienced DPN management professionals collaborate to provide hands-on experience to energize the community, mobilize resources and implement practical solutions.
