Description

Our Services We are a General Practice office that strives to deliver the very finest comprehensive dental treatment and to exceed your expectations in care and comfort. We provide preventative care, periodontal maintenance, and periodontal therapy (deep root scaling) with our hygiene department. Preventative care refers to the regular prophy (cleaning) and check-up on a regular six month period. Periodontal therapy (root scaling) is preformed on patients with Periodontal Disease. This treatment removes the calculas (tartar) and dead tissue below the gum line and helps heal the inflamed and infected gum tissue. After a patient has had this treatment their hygiene visits are scheduled at a three or four month interval to maintain healthy gum tissue. Dr. Barragán provides General Dental care. Our goal is to practice conservative dentistry by maintaining as much of the natural tooth structure as possible. We do a variety of services which includes beginning with sealants on our young patients, white (tooth colored) fillings, inlays, on lays, and full coverage crowns. We also offer implant crowns, veneers, bonding, and bleaching. Sealants are to help prevent tooth decay and can offer major protection against cavities. Sealants are done on children. It is a painless procedure whereby the sealant is “painted” onto the tooth enamel in the pit and fissure areas. Sealants help prevent decay in these areas by “sealing out” plaque and food. Toothbrush bristles cannot reach all the way into the depressions and grooves to extract food and plaque. White Fillings are placed after the decay has been removed from the tooth. In order to place a filling there must be adequate tooth structure to hold the filling. Inlays and On lays are used when the tooth structure is not adequate enough to hold a filling. These two procedures require that they be made from a mold, the dental lab then fabricates the inlay or on lay. This treatment requires at least two patient visits. Full Crowns are needed when the tooth has severe decay, or has had a series of fillings, and now more decay which had resulted in a minimum of tooth structure being left. Crowns may also be required after a root canal or in the case of a cracked tooth. A crown is a full cover for the tooth and is made from a mold in a dental laboratory. This procedure requires two to three patient visits. The most common materials used are gold and porcelain. Implant Crowns are the final restoration after implant fixtures have been placed by an Oral Surgeon. The implant crown can be a single unit or one several that supports a bridge. Implant crowns require several visits to the office before the final restoration can be placed. Veneers are part of our Cosmetic Dentistry as they are used to replace discolored teeth, fill in gaps, and correct chipped teeth. Veneers are an excellent way to create a beautiful new smile. Veneers are thin porcelain facing that is made in the dental laboratory and bonded to the front of the tooth. This requires two visits before completion. Bleaching can be done in our office, after one hour the patient leaves with a bright, white, beautiful smile. A second bleaching option is the at home bleaching treatment whereby a bleaching tray is made to fit the upper and lower areas. The patient fills the tray with a bleaching gel and wears the trays while sleeping. This at home treatment takes approximately ten days until completed. As needed, we have a full range of specialty doctors in our area which include: an Endodontist, a Periodontist, a Prosthodontist, an Oral Surgeon, and an Orthodontist.
