About Us Mission Statement Our mission at Drake Construction is to hire the most qualified people, give them the right tools, and to complete projects that exceed client expectations, while having safety, timeliness, and professionalism in mind at all times. History Drake Construction, Incorporated is a general contracting firm with over 40 years experience in all phases of construction including civil, underground utility, commercial building, pile foundations, barging, & demolition. In 1968, Wayne Drake founded Wayne Drake General Contractor in North Bend, OR. The company started as a general contracting firm specializing in custom home building, and concrete work. Wayne eventually moved the company into the commercial building and site preparation arena as well as subdivision development. In 1982 Wayne brought WDGC to Alaska and based the operation in Kotzebue, AK. Quickly learning the new arctic environment Wayne was instrumental in building the growth of the company to include pile foundation installation, building demolition, building raising and moving, and barging to the capabilities of the company. In order to better service it's growing list of clients and customers, Wayne Drake General Contractor restructured in 2001 from a sole proprietor into two corporate companies, Drake Construction, Incorporated and Drake Investments, LLC,. Drake Construction, Incorporated is a full service general and subcontractor, while Drake Investments, LLC was formed to better handle the growing needs of equipment rental and charter services in western Alaska. In 2006, after 38 years of overseeing the Drake companies, Wayne J. Drake retired and passed the reins on to his son Toby W. Drake. The second generation family company will continue to provide quality construction services while keeping an eye on the ever changing world of construction technology and using it to help our company and our customers achieve their goals.
