Description
Dublin Arts Center and its surrounding grounds emanate a sense of elegance and history. The French-Eclectic styled building, constructed in 1941, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is located off scenic Riverside Drive, North of State Rt. 161 in Dublin, Ohio. In 1946 Eleanor and Andre Gelpi purchased the house. Eleanor Gelpi was a pioneering businesswoman and local champion for the arts. She made the residence famous through the many gala events she hosted on its premises. Dublin Arts Center is a two-story building with a partially exposed lower level at the rear facade. A stately circular stair tower greets guests as they approach from Riverside Drive. The building is clad in gray fieldstone with limestone details. The rear of the house and grounds overlook a scenic view of the Scioto River. The spacious rolling lawn slopes gently toward the river and a cluster of mature shade trees.
