Description

In 1917 , Eugenia Duke began selling her signature spread sandwiches to World War I soldiers stationed at Camp Sevier – just outside Greenville, South Carolina. Eugenia’s spreads were all made with her family’s homemade mayonnaise recipe. They were an instant hit, and in the spring of 1919 , Eugenia Duke sold over 10,000 of her sandwiches in one day. In 1929 , following the popularity of her sandwiches, Eugenia sold her mayonnaise recipe to C. F. Sauer, who established the Duke Mayonnaise factory currently located in Mauldin, South Carolina.

We opened our first USDA/FDA compliant manufacturing plant in 2006 because our dream was to sell Duke Sandwich spreads and desserts to grocery stores and restaurants, but we were unable to do this without a manufacturing company. We couldn’t keep up with the demand in our restaurants ourselves or find a local manufacturer that would work with our needs and start small.

We closed our first plant and opened our second USDA/FDA compliant manufacturing plant in 2012 as our manufacturing business had grown beyond the capabilities of our first plant. This new plant increased our square footage four fold and our manufacturing capabilities eight fold. We are excited about our new plant as this opportunity will allow us to serve even more customers in the future to grow their own business! Let us help you build your dream!
