Adopt a Station In 2008 the committee joined together to adopt the Dunellen Train Station. Everyone worked hard cleaning up the embankments along Washington Avenue. Litter, brush, old shrubs, and junk were removed and replaced with flowers and plants. Dunellen Shade Tree Commission News!! Dunellen has been awarded the 2009 Business Stimulus Fund -(BSF) worth $7,000, which will be used for the following. * DSTC Annual Training * Community Education * Arbor Day Celebration * Tree Planting along North Ave Extension and New Market Rd. Residents will be contacted asking if they would like a tree planted in front of their home. We want the resisdent to have the option so we plant trees where they are wanted and well maintained. Letters have gone out to the residents of each property needing a tree along these streets as identified by the Dunellen Shade Tree Commission. The resident is asked to respond whether they want a tree planted or not, so that we do not plant trees where they are not welcomed. This will help as the resident will assist in its watering and care. Tree City USA Certified for the past six years
