Description

Dutchland Construction was founded in 1974 as an opportunity to give families quality options for home construction. Each home reflects a true custom home, evidenced by the fact that in over 30 years of operation, we've never designed the same home twice. We are a small company and we like it that way. Our customers like it that way too, because they receive a lot of personal attention. We combine a competent team of skilled Amish craftsmen with effective technology to design and estimate your home. One Dutchland customer noted, "We came to them with just a basic plan, but with their computer, they created a truly outstanding design." Our specialty is log homes. Log homes far exceed any description as a log cabin; we can provide every feature you could want in a home. Typically our home sizes are between 1,000 and 3,500 square feet, but can vary from 800 square feet for a woodsy getaway to structures like the commercial lodges in Onekama, Michigan and Wendell August Forge in Berlin, Ohio. The latter represents one of the largest timber frame structures (13,000 square feet) in the United States, with more than 170 tons of solid oak timbers used in this project! Dutchland demonstrates its uniqueness by milling its own logs. Producing our logs locally keeps the cost of homes down, while maintaining consistency of product. We have developed our own improved design with double tongue-and-groove and a special exterior drip edge...
