Description
Duty Council's objective is to mitigate or eliminate import duties for American corporations. Many raw materials or component parts are not economically or wholly produced in the United States. Therefore, duties on materials, which are further manufactured in the United States, unduly adds to production costs. These added costs, which are not born by importers of finished products, can significantly impede growth, labor, and profit margins. Accomplishment of this objective is focused on two strategies. First, Duty Council introduces, educates, and promotes duty mitigating practices permissible under current U.S. laws and regulations. These practices include temporary duty suspensions, free trade agreements, foreign trade zones, duty drawback, and binding ruling requests. Second, we help form ad-hoc coalitions with numerous industry associations, corporations, and other interested organizations to collaborate on the following two tariff related agendas.
