Duvinage is a leading manufacturer of custom stairs since 1895. The company was founded in New York City by Pierre Duvinage, who patented the first spiral metal staircase in the United States. The company remained in New York until 1923 when it was sold to the Maryland Machine & Foundry Company and moved to Baltimore. As part of Maryland Machine and Foundry, the company built stairs for a wide variety of customers and applications, including residences, corporate office, hotels, hospitals, universities, bridges, tunnels, military bases, and schools.
