The platform technical program management team is a high-powered startup inside of our client working on technology and products that are critical to the company's success, and are at the heart of the customer experience of the internet. This team is responsible for working with numerous internal and external partner organizations, spanning the search and advertising platform businesses, and numerous customers across our client company who are building online services.

12+ years of experience in product management / innovation roles, including several years in leadership roles, with a software company developing platform technology and/or enterprise application suites. Experience in the information services / data space is particularly valuable.

Are you interested in driving the definition of and processes within the Big Data ecosystem? We are working with a client who has developed a cloud storage and compute engine that powers one of the largest online business ecosystems in the world. The system consists of a very high level programming language, a distributed replicated storage system, a variety of schedulers, management interfaces and a variety of development support tools and environments. Our client has been leading the charge on Big Data for years. Few other cloud computing services in the world can boast the scale of this system: every ten minutes it grows more than the Library of Congress grows in three months.

How do you scale to a billion users? From the patch of dirt our client company built a data center on custom servers that power the site to their vast systems, network and database infrastructure. They make use of existing open source technologies like Linux, memcached, MySQL, Hadoop and hbase, while developing some of their own. In honoring their hacker roots and challenging convention by custom designing and building our software, servers and data centers from the ground up, they built the technical foundation of the social network.

Our client is one of the most widely known social network companies in the world. That it has attracted a huge number of active users worldwide creates the need for a hardware infrastructure that is one of the largest and most complex in the world. We are seeking for our client a technically strong leader for its Hardware Engineering team to take this infrastructure and team to the next levels of growth, innovation and performance, while advancing the company's cultural values of hard work, transparency and individual ownership of getting it right.
