This is the personal site for Deb Nicholson. I’m a geeky gal who is interested in the intersection of technology and social justice. If you are interested in hiring me or consulting me or networking with me in a professional way, you will probably find my LinkedIn profile useful. How I like to spend my time: I’m one of the primary movers behind the Women’s Caucus, an initiative housed at the Free Software Foundation to increase the recruitment and retention of women in the free software movement. This summer, I volunteered as a camp counselor for Boston’s first Girls Rock Camp . I’ll be helping with this year’s Ladies Rock Camp and assisting with fundraising for year two. Girls Rock! I serve on the board of the Berwick Research Institute, a local arts organization dedicated to supporting interactive, thought-provoking and often difficult to categorize work especially using new media and methods. I also serve on the board of SEAGL which is a Seattle area GNU/Linux festival scheduled to happen in 2011.
