E.C. Benson & Associates began as a small company in 1994 in Bloomington, MN and has developed into a major distributor/supplier of quality music products worldwide. The company has been built on solid core values including: Quality Products, Friendly-Courteous Service, Integrity and Experience. Benson, President of E.C. Benson & Associates, was a dedicated Music Educator (Director of Bands) for over 45 years. His Bloomington (MN) Marching Band appeared in three Rose Bowl Parades, in addition to Fiesta, and Cotton Bowl Celebrations, and a host of other national-international events. This, in addition to dozens of appearances for professional athletic teams (Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota North Stars, Minnesota Twins). His High School Concert Bands (Bloomington Jefferson) and community band (Medalist Concert Band) have performed at four Midwest International Band & Orchestra Clinics, several MENC, NBA, and Midwest Music Education Conventions, and have been invited to perform in Norway, Africa, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Scotland, and England. Guest Conducting/Adjudication/Clinic sessions have taken Dr. Benson throughout the United States, Canada, Asia, and Europe, and the Middle East. He is an elected member of the American Bandmasters Association, and holds honorary memberships in the Japan Band Directors Association, the Asian Band Masters Association, the Israeli Band Federation, and the Norwegian Band Federation. In the U.S. he is a member of NBA, MENC, MBDA, MEA, NEA, WMEA, CBA, and IBA.He was honored in1999 as an inductee into both the Minnesota State High School League, and the Minnesota Music Educators Association Halls of Fame. Dr. Benson is a MENC Nationally Certified Music Educator, and received the John Philip Sousa Foundation Award for musical excellence, the University of Minnesota Alumni Association Outstanding Educator Award, and the Minnesota Business Foundation Award for Excellence in Education. Dr. Benson earned his Ph.D in Education from the University of Minnesota in 1978. E.C. Benson & Associates is also proud to be a Midwest Representative for the Fruhauf Band Uniform Co.
