Early Path is a placental pathology service that provides expert fetal and placental evaluation and consultation in cases of: - early fetal loss and abnormal chromosome count - recurrent pregnancy compromise - late fetal death and cord accidents - prematurity and premature ruptured membranes - fetal distress - fetal growth restriction Earlypath provides services ranging from gross and histopathologic diagnoses, clinicopathologic correlation, access to cutting edge research investigations, to ongoing consultation throughout the next pregnancy. Pathologic diagnoses are directed towards the identification of the primary pathophysiology operating in the placenta, membranes, uterine lining (and fetus as appropriate). Major pathologic categories include endometrial infection and "immune" pathology, clotting and uterine arterial pathology.
