Delicious Organic Food is More Than Our Business, It’s Our Passion. When our founders Drew & Myra Goodman turned over their first shovels full of soil in 1984, they were two determined young Manhattan transplants who were drawn to the natural beauty and richness of California’s Carmel Valley, who strongly believed in doing the right thing.From the moment they settled on a 2 1/2-acre raspberry farm here, they decided that doing the right thing meant committing to farming this spectacular land organically, producing food they felt good about serving their families, friends, and neighbors. This labor of love became Earthbound Farm.Guided by this pioneering spirit, it wasn’t long before Earthbound Farm was doing a lot of the right things. Undaunted by the many who said it couldn’t be done, in 1986 we became the first company to successfully launch prewashed, packaged salad for retail sale. When we introduced our “spring mix” to restaurants and supermarket produce aisles, we started a salad revolution. Today, gourmet salads greens and packaged salads have become staples of grocery baskets everywhere.
