Earthwork Engineering is a civil engineering firm specializing in the design of temporary and permit structures used in below ground construction. Designs are prepared for clients at prebid time for bidding purposes as well as full design submittals for construction. The principal design work performed by Earthwork Engineering involves excavation support systems utilizing soil nailing, sheet piling, soldier piles and lagging as well as secant pile walls. Where lateral bracing is required tieback anchors and/or internal bracing are typically utilized. Design services are also provided for underpinning systems with convention pit underpinning, micropiles and/or bracket piles. Design of temporary support systems for utilities and traffic are also provided as required. Typical clients of Earthwork Engineering are general contractors, pile driving contractors and excavation contractors. The firm was established in 1995 and serves the entire New England region. The principal design engineer of the firm is Paul A. Deterling, P.E. who has a Masters Degree from M.I.T. and over 25 years of design experience as both a consultant and contractor. With this combination of technical knowledge and practical experience a safe and economical design will be provided for your project in a timely fashion.
