About The EDC Founded in 1996, the EDC successfully brings together the three-county, Western Massachusetts region's public and private leadership with one voice to create a positive environment for responsible economic growth. Centralized coordination, effective collaboration, and comprehensive professional services are its unifying foundation.Geographically, it includes the three Pioneer Valley counties: (Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin) encompassing the vast majority of population, workforce, higher education graduates, attractions and resources of Western Massachusetts.For firms considering establishing an operation in the region, and those already here who are expanding, the EDC serves as one-stop access to available resources and expertise.
