Research also shows that there is a strong correlation between students feeling safe and their success in the classroom. Clearly, creating safe schools directly relates to the core goals of education . And clearly educators want to work in safe schools. The need is for a process that gives school communities a systematic approach to the issue, a process that fits with continuous improvement and increased accountability standards. The Safe School Audit was developed to meet that need.
