He served the Cincinnati Public Schools for 29 years as a teacher, junior high and senior high principal and the district's personnel director. He knows the business of education. Effron retired from the district in 1992. Since 1992, Effron has served as a visiting professor of education at Xavier University. He teaches in the graduate division, primarily leadership courses. He has trained many current administrators in this area. These administrators proudly say they are true "Effronites." Effron also teaches students through a virtual classroom.
