From EGI’s beginning, a skilled and informative technical sales effort has been critical to our success. In research sales, both our US and international sales directors have many years experience in sales, and have a thorough personal knowledge of the needs of scientific researchers. Our clinical sales staff integrates their knowledge of the unique contributions of dense array EEG with direct clinical experience with EEG technology and intraoperative monitoring.

EGI was founded in 1992 with a vision of developing high-density EEG systems for neurological research. In the past 20 years, EGI’s dense array EEG systems have come to dominate the field of neurophysiological research and are used by the most prestigious research laboratories in the world. The quality of data and ease of use have also made EGI systems attractive to hospitals and clinics, which have been adopting EGI’s dense array EEG technology at an increasing pace.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive methodology that allows researchers to temporarily stimulate or inhibit specific areas of the brain. While TMS is commonly used by itself to study basic motor function, it can also be combined with EEG to investigate cortical functionality and connectivity. Over the past few years, EGI has worked with several research groups to test this type of multidisciplinary approach.

Founded in 1992, Electrical Geodesics Incorporated (EGI) set the goal of making dense array EEG (dEEG) practical and affordable for research laboratories. There are now over 500 sites in over 450 academic institutions, hospitals, and clinics using EGI's Geodesic EEG Systems, in over 30 countries. There are over 1400 research papers published in leading scientific and medical journals using EGI technology.

Whereas electronics manufacturing is relatively straightforward, EGI has for many years faced unique challenges in constructing the complex Geodesic Sensor Net in various sizes and models with highly skilled craftspersons. With the introduction of the HydroCel Nets, we made a considerable investment in manufacturing engineering to allow these complex products to be produced affordably at scale.
