EOT is a privately held company founded in Fremont, CA. in 1987 by its current President, David Scerbak. Prior to founding EOT, David co-founded Lightwave Electronics and worked at Quanta-Ray. In 1992, EOT moved to its operations to Traverse City, MI. EOT is involved in the development and manufacture of Faraday rotators and isolators as well as photodetectors. Many of the manufacturers of scientific and industrial laser systems utilize EOT's Faraday rotators/isolators as integral components in their laser systems. Likewise, many laser manufacturers and prestigious research centers use EOT's photodetectors to monitor the output of their lasers.EOT recently moved into its new facility at 5835 Shugart Lane in Traverse City. This facility has 15,000 square feet dedicated exclusively to the development and manufacturing of EOT's products. Some of the features of this facility are:Over 3,000 square feet of space is dedicated exclusively to optical assembly. Included in this space are Class 100 and Class 1000 clean rooms. The optical assembly area features 6 Optomate Drilled Granite Optical Tables and 3 laminar flow benches for optical test and alignment. The Optomate tables have lasers, HEPA filtration, computer data capture, power meters, translation stages, wave plates and all other necessary components required for the alignment and testing of Faraday rotators and isolators.
