In screw machining, specialized tools are used to create custom products, minimizing cycle time. With a large inventory of existing tooling, the required cutting tools to produce many fasteners, knurl pins, fitting, and other components may already be available. We are experienced in machining multiple types of metals and plastics including stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and Delrin. Our production facility maintains a wide range of the latest high-precision bar machines, CNC turning lathes, single spindle and multi-spindle screw machines, finishing equipment and secondary equipment, backed up by an experienced staff of professionals capable of handling a broad range of requests. A full calibration program ensures that all measurement equipment is accurate. Parts can be deburred, heat treated, and plated to customer specifications. Optical comparators and other metrology tools can be used to perform dimensional inspections as required. Although our range of equipment adds to our versatility, it is our people who make the difference. Creating precision components while holding tolerances as tight as ±0.001” requires knowledge, experience, and dedication.

Elge Precision Machining, Inc. was contracted by an electronic parts manufacturer in need of a reliable manufacturer for aluminum knurled knobs. Used within a custom application, these knobs needed to be produced accurately and economically in large volumes. We decided that a screw machining approach would be best for satisfying these goals. Our single spindle Brown & Sharpe screw machines were retained for production of the knobs.
